Well, it wasn't really a fair race. Amber did the Rock N Race a few days before running a sub 18 for a 2nd place finish so I was hoping she'd be tired for our little competition. Unfortunately, the competition went down the drain as did most of my food for the next few days.
I got sick and couldn't race the marathon(more on that in a future blog). Meanwhile, Amber had an amazing race in Chattanooga racing against some of the best girls in the world. If she had a better swim she probably would have podiumed. As it was, she had a very solid 6th place finish. And only a week later she went on to come in second overall in the Pro-3 Killington Stage Race! Pretty amazing considering I remember a time when she had to get off her bike to cross railroad tracks.
All in all, I would have to say that even if I had raced, I don't think it would have been a close competition.
Make sure to follow all of Amber's exploits on her blog, Twitter feed, and Facebook pages.
I have plenty to write about these last few weeks so stay tuned here too!
Until next time,
Danny
