Biketoberfest!

October 24th is Biketoberfest at Red River Theaters!

An evening of short bicycle films in support of a bike-friendly Main Street Redesign

Do you ride a bike in Concord? Would you like to ride your bike, but perhaps are terrified of getting squashed on Main Street? Do you not fit into either category but want to enjoy an evening of sweet bike movies, raffle prizes and tasty snacks, all totally free?

Well you, my friend, are in luck, because Wednesday evening is Main Street Biketoberfest at Red River Theater! The Central New Hampshire Bicycling Coalition invites you to enjoy an hour of inspiring, hilarious, and thought provoking short films all about bicycles, as well as information about on-going efforts to make the Main Street redesign as bike friendly as possible. Learn about what plans are begin considered and how you can lend your voice to the process to ensure that we end up with a Main Street that you actually will use and enjoy.

All you need to bring is yourself, some enthusiasm, and maybe some friends and you can enter a raffle for great cycling swag from S&W Sports, Goodale’s Bike Shop, Bicycle Times and Baileyworks bike bags. “Yeah, well, I’m not very lucky, I’ll never win,” you might say, but even if you don’t you’ll still get free brownies, cookies or crudités (whatever your preference). You’ve got no excuses left, so get your butt over to the theater!

The event is at Red River Theater, beginning at 7pm on Wednesday, October 24th (this Wednesday). In case it hasn’t been said enough already it is FO’ FREE, there are raffle tickets on the offer just for walking in the door, and baked goods for those with a sweet-tooth.

The Central New Hampshire Bicycling Coalition is the capital region’s local, friendly bicycle advocacy group, working to get more people on bikes more often. We believe that getting around by bike more often is good for people, easy on the pocketbook, better for roads, and builds a stronger community. The goal of this project is to ensure that the voices of cyclists are heard in the Main Street redesign, and the most bike-friendly outcome possible is chosen.

Mont Tremblant 2013 US Ironman Championship

Ironman Mont Tremblant was just announced as the 2013 US Ironman Championships which means it looks like I will be heading back out there. Luckily this time as a spectator. Take a look at the above video to see how beautiful the area is. Also for tips on how to stay aerodynamic during the bike ride look for the rider around 5 minutes 32 seconds in. Fantastic!
